[Summer Program] CSU Youth Exchange in the Philippines (non-credit)

Cagayan State University, a SMU partner institution in the Philippines extends invitations to Saint Mary’s University students to participate in the Youth Futures Exchange Program at CSU-Andrews Campus in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines.

 

Program description from the host university:

“The Youth Futures Exchange Program is organized by the Cagayan State University to bring together young leaders from various educational institutions to engage in meaningful dialogues, cultural exchanges, and collaborative projects that address pressing global issues. Saint Mary’s students will have the chance to engage with peers from diverse backgrounds, share their insights, and gain valuable experiences that will benefit them academically and personally.

 

Cost:

Cagayan State University will waive $300 registration fee (inclusive of accommodation, kits and activities) for Saint Mary’s students. Students will be responsible for international travel, insurance, and personal expenses.

Interested students should email the Global Learning Office (Miyuki.arai@smu.ca) by Wednesday July 24.  

 

What happens after you apply?

If you are selected, you will be nominated to the host university by the SMU Global Learning Office, and the rest of the application and pre-departure steps will be explained.

Join the next cohort of Foundations of Intercultural Development this fall!

Course Dates:

October 4 - November 27

This eight-week, asynchronous, online course increases awareness of how cultural influences affect intercultural interactions.  This program weaves in elements of truth and reconciliation that provide participants with a better understanding of some of the impacts of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and cultures in Canada.
