The SMU Writing Centre invites you to join the Writing Room, an opportunity for graduate and honors students to work on their major writing projects in a group setting.
The Writing Room features:
Two “Pomodoro” blocks of writing time (2.5 hours each)
Individual check-ins with graduate writing tutors and research librarians
SMU Writing Centre resources
For students looking to jumpstart their writing, focus on their research, or sprint to the finish line, the Writing Room is an ideal space to work with accountability, camaraderie, and minimal distraction.
Bring your lunch — some snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.

9:00am-10:00am: Welcome/Setting Writing Goals
10:00am-12:30pm: Writing Block 1 (5 pomodoros)
12:30pm-1:00pm: Lunch break
1:00pm-3:30pm: Writing Block 2 (5 pomodoros)
3:30pm-4:00pm: Roundup Session
